At Holy Family Catholic High School, we are committed to promoting a whole school approach to positive mental health and emotional wellbeing for all students, their families and members of staff and governors. Our open culture allows students’ voices to be heard, and through the use of effective policies and procedures we ensure a safe and supportive environment for all affected - both directly and indirectly - by mental health issues.

Holy Family Staff

All staff at Holy Family take responsibility to promote the mental health and wellbeing of students, however key members of staff have specific roles to play:

  • Mr Westbury - Assistant Head Teacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Mrs Bosanquet- SENCO

  • Mrs Skillen - Designated Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead and ELSA
  • Miss Johnson – Learning Mentor (Attendance) and Deputy Safeguarding Lead
  • Mrs Jones – Alternative Curriculum Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Lead
  • Miss Hall - Lead Inclusion Mentor
  • Mrs Burgess - Inclusion Mentor and Careers Lead
  • Miss McGee - Inclusion Mentor and Progress Leader Assistant 
  • Miss Maslen – Medical Officer
  • Mrs Bradley - Attendance Officer
  • Mrs Peckham - Educational Welfare Officer Sefton
  • Mrs Coyne - Personal Development Coordinator
  • Miss Jankee – Personal Development Coordinator
Plus, External Education Mental Health Teams and School Commissioned Mental Health Staff.

Crisis Support

If you have concerned about the mental health or wellbeing of student, in the first instance speak to their Progress Leader. If there is a concern that the student is high risk or in danger of immediate harm, they should speak to the Designated Safeguarding Leads or key staff, highlighted above.

If the child presents as a high-risk medical emergency or it is out of school hours, please call the police: 101 (non-emergency) or 999.

If you have an urgent safeguarding issue, or if you feel that a child or young person is at risk of harm, abuse or neglect, please report it to Sefton child services: 0345 140 0845. 

CAMHS crisis line is also available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week to children under 18 experiencing a mental health crisis (Liverpool or Sefton): 0151 293 3577 or freephone: 0808 196 3550.
