On Monday 9th February, to kick-start Children’s Mental Health Week, we were honoured to welcome Mike Palmer MBE from 3 Dads Walking and Nina Smith from Edge Hill University.

They delivered powerful assemblies to our Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students, sharing stories of hope and the vital work they are doing within the suicide prevention community. They spoke openly about the importance of speaking uphaving conversations, and looking out for friends. These discussions do not cause suicidal ideation — they reduce risk and stigma, and encourage young people to seek support when they need it.

Alongside the assemblies, students took part in cake sales and wore their PE kits with a £1 donation. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we were proud to present a £1,000 cheque to support PAPYRUS Suicide Prevention.

Thank you to everyone involved for making the day so impactful.
